Years of harsh winters had taken their toll on this 1990s lakefront home, leaving it with drafty walls, outdated finishes, and little protection against the elements. The owners wanted a fresh look with lasting durability and a true connection to the view. We started by removing every layer down to the sheathing, then built it back up with long lasting 50 year architectural shingles, LP SmartSide siding, energy efficient triple pane Anderson fiberglass windows, insulated custom garage doors, and a new gutter system for optimal performance in heavy snow and rain.
To give the homeowners a space they could enjoy year-round, we built a covered second-story deck with cedar tongue-and-groove ceilings, powder-coated railings, a spiral staircase, built-in heaters, and stone gabion accents. An 18-foot multi-slide door opened the home to sweeping lake views and created a smooth connection between indoors and out. Once the hand-crafted chimney cap was set, the homeowners shared that the deck had quickly become their favorite “room” in the house. They also appreciated our clear communication and organization throughout, knowing what to expect at every stage. This new exterior not only boosts curb appeal and performance but also ties seamlessly into the fully updated kitchen and living area. See Chef-Grade Kitchen & Interior Makeover.
